Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- one to two years of supervisory experience preferably in food service
- ability to communicate effectively with employees, guests and vendors
- ability to multitask and coordinate multiple responsibilities
- must be able to stand for extended periods
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- capacity to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to heat, steam, smoke and odors
- flexible to work irregular hours under pressure
- able to carry trays weighing 20 pounds for up to 30 feet
- must be able to fit through 30 inch wide openings
Job Qualifications
- One to two years previous experience in a supervisory role preferably in the food service industry
- high school diploma, some college or degree preferred
- effective communication skills with employees, guests, and vendors in person and by telephone
- ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
Job Duties
- Assist the General Manager in planning and analyzing administration and operations manpower
- responsible for achieving plan profit levels while ensuring maximum guest satisfaction
- accountable for proper handling of cash, credit card information, gift cards and all things related to payment of guest checks
- assist in the planning and analysis of restaurant unit manpower, ensuring sufficient development and training of all employees including subordinate managers
- assist General Manager in all aspects of employment and restaurant staffing including recruitment, training, and conducting new hire orientation
- attend University of Perkins and successfully complete all coursework
- achieve and maintain ServSafe certification
- perform and assist in all functions for all positions in the restaurant
- ensure menu items are prepared, portioned, and presented properly in a clean, safe and sanitary manner
- monitor and oversee food temperatures to reduce risks of food-borne illness
- ensure restaurant compliance to productivity and service standards by scheduling sufficient and well-trained staff
- ensure proper management of facility and equipment through preventive maintenance and adherence to safety and sanitation requirements
- manage inventory levels for food and non-food items according to company guidelines
- anticipate and correct system breakdowns to achieve guest satisfaction
- be accountable for accurate financial data including payroll, cash, productivity, food costs, security of funds, and operating expenses
- attend scheduled restaurant and region team meetings, making presentations as requested
