In the role of Assistant Kitchen Manager, you will be an integral part of the leadership team alongside the General Manager and the Kitchen Manager, tasked with achieving the restaurant's mission and operational goals. Your primary responsibility will be to create, coordinate, and lead the Back of the House (BOH) team responsible for daily kitchen operations, prep work, and dish areas, ensuring all activities align with PURE Taqueria's standards, programs, and systems. This position requires a meticulous approach to food quality, cost management, employee retention, and cleanliness and sanitation, ensuring that every aspect of the kitchen runs efficiently and to a high standard.

The Assistant Kitchen Manager will be responsible for designing and implementing plans that meet specific objectives related to food quality and cost control, as well as fostering a positive and productive work environment that promotes employee satisfaction and retention. Excellent knowledge of all daily accounting functions, POS systems, and supporting computer software is essential to this role, as it involves managing operational data accurately and efficiently. Scheduled shifts will include functioning as an Expo/BOH Manager on Duty, with the flexibility to perform all duties of a Kitchen Manager whenever necessary. A high level of culinary skill, including excellent knife handling and advanced knowledge of Escoffier techniques in butchering meat and fish, is critical to success in this position. Job Requirements

  • Must have a proven record of leadership, team building, effective communication and sound judgment
  • At least 2 years experience as a chef, sous chef or kitchen manager, or equivalent, with an emphasis on Escoffier techniques
  • Must have excellent communication skills in either English or Spanish
  • Must have current ServSafe certification
  • Possess excellent basic math skills and have the ability to operate a POS system, accounting software and Microsoft Office
  • Be able to work in a standing position for 10-12 hours per day
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to work 50 to 60 hours per week

Job Qualifications
