Job Requirements

  • 1+ years professional culinary experience in a fast paced, high volume kitchen
  • Associate degree in culinary arts a plus
  • Demonstrated knowledge of proper food safety and sanitation practices
  • Food handlers license or certificate required or must be obtained within 90 days of hire (reimbursement available)
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Must be extremely well organized
  • Familiarity with NSLP compliance requirements a plus
  • Must share passion for improving nutrition and health in schools
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) a plus

Job Qualifications

  • Associate degree in culinary arts a plus
  • Demonstrated knowledge of proper food safety and sanitation practices
  • Strong culinary skills with 1+ years of professional experience in a fast-paced, high volume kitchen
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Extremely well organized
  • Familiarity with NSLP compliance requirements a plus
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus
  • Passion for improving nutrition and health in schools.

Job Duties

  • Plan and execute the daily preparation of breakfast, lunch, and snacks for 300-500 students
  • Maintain a food-safe kitchen by performing regular quality control ensuring recipe consistency and integrity
  • Adhere to production schedules and perform inventory management
  • Track consumption numbers and work collaboratively with the kitchen team to optimize efficiency
  • Provide support and leadership to kitchen staff during daily production
  • Assist the Head Chef in administrative and operational responsibilities
  • Ensure adherence to all food safety and sanitation practices.
