Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Serv-Safe Certification
- minimum two years experience in food service management, preferably in healthcare
- ability to read, write, and speak English
- ability to cook and follow standard recipes
- physically able to bend, stand, lift, stoop, sit, stretch, carry, and walk
- able to lift up to 40 pounds
- manual dexterity to peel, cut, and prepare food
- free from communicable disease
- completion of drug testing and criminal background check upon hire
- ability to relate courteously to residents and associates
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- specialized training in food service preferred
- continued education in food service such as RD, CDM, or Culinary Degree preferred
- Serv-Safe Certification required
- minimum two years experience in food service management, preferably in healthcare
- ability to read, write, and speak English
- experience in record keeping and menu planning
- familiarity with restaurant or cafeteria-style organization
- ability to accept constructive feedback
- ability to relate courteously and diplomatically to residents and associates
- adherence to company policies and procedures
Job Duties
- Assist the Dining Services Director in all dietary department operations
- plan menus via Grove Menu system as requested
- purchase foods and supplies and supervise inventory storage as needed
- print production sheets and prepare recipes for cook team
- prepare meals according to planned menus and special diet requirements
- follow standardized recipes and special diet orders
- maintain safe and sanitary dietary department
- direct and instruct dietary personnel as requested
- assist with daily cleaning duties
- serve food according to portion control
- schedule hours and assign duties to dietary associates as requested
- check food and supplies for upcoming meals
- participate in special event planning and preparation as requested
- maintain and reorder kitchen equipment and supplies
- participate in meetings, training, and associate programs as requested
- serve as Manager on Duty on weekends as required
- perform other related duties assigned by Dining Services Director
