Job Requirements
- Valid California Department of Motor Vehicles Driver's License with no license restrictions other than for corrective lenses
- Basic computer skills such as Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to learn departmental database
- Knowledge and abilities essential for successful performance
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Willingness to work weekends and holidays with variable hours
- Flexibility to rotate duties across vivaria and assume other job-related functions
- Participation in Department of Transportation Pull-Notice System when applicable
Job Qualifications
- Valid California Department of Motor Vehicles Driver's License with no restrictions other than for corrective lenses

- Good oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge and abilities essential to effective job performance
- Experience driving cargo vans or medium grade straight trucks preferred
- Experience with bulk equipment handling using pallet jacks or dollies preferred
- Experience operating lift gates and restraint equipment such as ratchet straps preferred
- Animal husbandry experience preferred
- Experience working in a cage wash facility preferred
Job Duties
- Drive cargo van or medium duty straight truck to transport animals, equipment, and supplies between UCSF campuses and collaborative institutions
- Assist with vehicle upkeep, scheduling maintenance, and record keeping
- Support animal health monitoring and routine husbandry as needed
- Assist with animal receiving in accordance with laws and regulations
- Participate in cage wash operations when assigned
- Work weekends, holidays, and variable hours to support research needs
- Rotate duties across different vivaria and supervisors as required
