Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency
- One year of experience in providing office administrative support and maintaining medical records
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency
- One year of experience in providing office administrative support and maintaining medical records
- Knowledge of healthcare organizations and their structure, including their compliance such as HIPAA and medical coding requirements
- Ability to effectively communicate and present information in a clear and concise manner, both orally and in writing
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, department heads, administrators, organizational stakeholders and the general public
- Emotional maturity, sensitivity, human relations skills, successful resolution of losses in own life, and good interpersonal skills
Job Duties
- Assists with administrative-type duties such as typing, filing, copying, sorting mail, calculations, answering phones, etc., as requested by supervisor
- Processes patient plans of care, orders and multi-disciplinary flow sheets
- updates, prints and distributes records as appropriate
- Reviews charts of admitted and discharged patients for deficiencies
- monitors for compliance for correction of deficient documentation
- Maintains effective communication with others, both inside and outside the department, to give or obtain needed information or coordinate activities of patients such as doctors' appointments
- Ensures the accuracy of administrative functions and data entry in the electronic medical record
- Promotes the image and reputation of the System by exhibiting servant leadership and providing direct and open lines of communication
- Contributes to the work of committees, workgroups, project management, and other collaborative efforts of the System
- Performs other duties as necessary to ensure the success of the System
