Job Requirements

  • Associate degree or two-year technical certificate
  • Two years of experience as a supervisory chef
  • Minimum of three years general, hands-on culinary industry experience
  • Ability to use Blackboard for course management
  • Ability to prepare PowerPoint presentations
  • Ability to submit syllabus and grades electronically
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Commitment to maintaining professional certifications and standards

Job Qualifications

  • Associate degree or two-year technical certificate
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Two years of experience as a supervisory chef
  • Minimum of three years general, hands-on culinary industry experience
  • Proficiency in instructional technologies including Blackboard and PowerPoint
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to organize material and develop student learning objectives and assignments
  • Positive attitude and detail-oriented approach

Job Duties

  • Develop and teach all assigned courses following department course outlines
  • Keep accurate records of student attendance, progress, and grades
  • Post and maintain office hours
  • Provide instructional assignments in culinary arts technical and hospitality management skills, including lecture and lab instruction
  • Maintain standards of professionalism including sanitation, safety, and uniform codes
  • Maintain currency of knowledge and skill in specialization and areas of instruction
  • Maintain professional certifications
