Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum two years of experience in a social or recreation program or similar experience working in a healthcare setting
  • able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
  • knowledge and experience caring for and interacting with residents of this nature
  • maintain confidentiality of all resident care information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines

Job Duties

  • Develop and distribute a monthly activities calendar and newsletter for residents and family members
  • coordinate and schedule outside vendors and presenters
  • participate in community event planning with the marketing staff
  • make routine visits to residents
  • ensure that all charted activity progress notes are informative and descriptive of the services provided and indicate the resident's response to the service
  • perform administrative requirements, such as completing necessary forms and reports
  • coordinate with other departments as necessary and in conjunction with resident care plans
  • plan, prepare and operate under the activities budget
  • set up, implement, and clean up resident group and individual activities
  • participate in facility surveys by authorized government agencies
  • create and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm and cheerful environment
