Job Requirements
- Minimum two years commercial kitchen experience
- Provide at least three professional references
- Ability to maintain a clean work environment
- Commit to a minimum six-day, seventy-hour workweek
- Ability to live on-site in a rural setting, possibly in shared living spaces
- Ability to work under pressure in extreme temperatures
- Physical ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to bend, stretch, and reach for extended periods
- Must obtain ServSafe Allergens Certification prior to camp start
- Ability to identify the Big 9 allergens and communicate effectively
- Capacity to cook from scratch without supervision
- Ability to modify menu items for dietary needs
Job Qualifications
- Two or more years of commercial kitchen experience
- Minimum of three professional references submitted with application
- Proficiency in skills relevant to the role of special diets/allergen chef
- Quality driven with a strong commitment to excellence
- Ability to self-motivate and work independently
- Strong leadership abilities to lead teams and take direction
- Knowledge of and ability to uphold health department standards
- Ability to work long hours in a fast-paced environment
- ServSafe Allergens Certification (company sponsored prior to start)
- Effective communication skills regarding food allergens
- Ability to cook from scratch with minimal supervision
- Capacity to adapt recipes for multiple dietary restrictions
Job Duties
- Control inventory
- Assist in assembling orders to be placed
- Manage projects related to food service
- Communicate effectively with camp staff and clients
- Uphold Wolfoods standards of service and quality
- Implement food safety practices specific to special diets and allergen food preparation
- Interact professionally with campers, staff, and parents
- Recognize and maintain health department sanitation standards
- Manage and supervise kitchen staff
- Maintain client relations
- Follow the comprehensive Wolfoods camp food training program
- Attend in-service training and staff meetings
- Use weights and measures to execute recipes accurately
- Prepare all menu items including special requests
- Follow standardized recipes
- Ensure accurate timing, quantity, quality, and plating of food production
- Actively engage in planning, scheduling, directing, and training staff
- Understand cross-utilization of ingredients
- Estimate production needs and maintain inventory levels
- Recommend equipment purchases
- May act as front of house supervisor when needed
- Safely produce special diet and allergen food items
