Job Requirements

  • Experience in commercial kitchen environments for four or more years
  • Must provide three professional references
  • Certification in ServSafe Allergens required prior to camp start
  • Ability to live on-site in a rural area with potential shared living quarters
  • Must physically endure standing long hours, lifting 50 pounds, bending and stretching
  • Ability to work extensively under pressure in varying temperature conditions
  • Willingness to work a demanding schedule of at least 6 days and 70 hours per week
  • Capability to cook all meals from scratch
  • Experience in institutional and batch cooking preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Four or more years of commercial kitchen experience
  • Minimum three professional references with application submission
  • Proficient in relevant kitchen and management skills
  • Ability to self-motivate
  • Able to lead a team as well as take direction
  • Ability to work in a rural on-site living situation with possible shared living spaces
  • Capable of working under pressure in varied temperature environments
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds
  • Ability to bend, stretch, and reach for extended periods
  • Must possess ServSafe Allergens Certification before the camp start (company sponsored)
  • Willingness to work a minimum 6-day, 70-hour work week
  • Skilled in cooking from scratch
  • Experience in institutional and batch cooking highly desired

Job Duties

  • Perform all duties toward providing excellent guest service in an efficient manner
  • Develop effective staff schedules based on business levels and budget guidelines
  • Schedule and coordinate all side work for personnel
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining hall according to sanitation standards
  • Maintain appearance and uniform standards
  • Monitor and follow up on dining hall operations during meal periods
  • Collaborate with the chef on duty to uphold food presentation and sanitation standards
  • Train and develop all front of house dining personnel
  • Provide ongoing feedback to service personnel regarding standards and performance
  • Communicate daily with head chef and camp directors about dining hall operations
  • Gather and respond to diner feedback
  • Ensure dining hall is open and prepared 15 minutes before service
  • Implement checklist system for dining hall operations
  • Follow WOLFoods environmental practices to minimize waste
  • Stay knowledgeable of all menus and specifications
  • Maintain constant adherence to dining hall standards
  • Adhere to company safety practices to minimize risks
  • Complete daily reporting
  • Communicate effectively with subordinates, co-workers, and supervisors
  • Motivate and foster a positive work environment
  • Attend training and staff meetings
  • Understand food safety for special diets and allergy-friendly cooking
  • Interact professionally with campers, staff, and parents
  • Manage inventory control
  • Place orders

  • Place accurate food orders
  • Ensure kitchen and equipment maintenance to health standards
  • Teach and enforce safety regulations
  • Prepare specialized food for events
  • Assist with recipe development and tasting
  • Assist in menu planning
  • Recommend equipment purchases
  • Act as front of house supervisor when necessary
