Job Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
  • 4+ years commercial kitchen experience
  • ServSafe Allergens Certification required before camp start
  • must be able to stand for extended periods
  • physical ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
  • able to bend, stretch, and reach for long durations
  • must live on-site during camp season
  • ability to work in extreme temperatures
  • able to cook from scratch
  • willingness to relocate for summer
  • availability for minimum 70-hour work weeks
  • must complete training program
  • able to handle multitasking and high-pressure roles

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years commercial kitchen experience
  • ability to self-motivate
  • capable of leading a team and taking direction
  • must possess ServSafe Allergens Certification before starting camp
  • proficiency in relevant culinary and management skills
  • experience with institutional and batch cooking highly desired
  • ability to work under pressure in varying temperatures
  • physical ability to stand long periods and lift at least 50 pounds
  • ability to live on-site in a rural, possibly shared living environment
  • strong communication and leadership skills
  • minimum three professional references required

Job Duties

  • Provide excellent guest service in an efficient manner
  • develop effective staff schedules based on business levels and budget
  • coordinate side work for personnel
  • maintain dining hall cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • enforce appearance and uniform standards
  • oversee dining hall operations during meal periods
  • collaborate with chefs to maintain food presentation and sanitation
  • train and develop front of house staff
  • provide feedback on standards and performance
  • communicate daily with head chef and camp directors
  • interact with diners for feedback
  • prepare dining hall prior to service
  • implement dining hall checklists
  • follow environmental practices
  • maintain menu knowledge and specifications
  • uphold dining hall standards
  • adhere to safety practices
  • handle daily reporting
  • communicate effectively with team and supervisors
  • motivate and foster positive work environment
  • attend training and meetings
  • understand food safety for special diets
  • interact professionally with campers, staff, and parents
  • control inventory and place orders
  • manage projects and client relations
  • uphold Wolfoods standards of service and quality
  • maintain health department sanitation standards
  • manage staff
  • lead food preparation and special events
