About The Zoës Kitchen - Sugarland
Industry
Other
Zoës Kitchen was a fast-casual restaurant chain specializing in Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, founded in 1995 by Zoë and Marcus Cassimus in Homewood, Alabama.
The restaurant's mission was to deliver fresh, made-from-scratch meals that combined the flavors of the Mediterranean with Southern hospitality.
By 2013, Zoës Kitchen had expanded to over 200 locations across 17 states, offering a diverse menu that included sandwiches, pitas, salads, soups, kabobs, and other Mediterranean dishes.
In August 2018, Zoës Kitchen was acquired by Cava Group, Inc. for $300 million. Following the acquisition, many Zoës Kitchen locations transitioned into Cava restaurants, leading to a reduction in the number of Zoës Kitchen establishments.
For example, in June 2021, the Zoës Kitchen location in Lakewood, Dallas, closed and reopened as a Cava restaurant.
