Acquisition and Current Operations

In February 2025, Asbury Automotive Group, a Fortune 500 company, announced an agreement to acquire The Herb Chambers Companies for $1.34 billion. The acquisition includes 33 dealerships, 52 franchises, and three collision centers in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Herb Chambers agreed to become Asbury's Special Advisor and retained ownership of Mercedes-Benz of Boston in Somerville.
