Tennessee State Veterans Homes Board

The Tennessee State Veterans' Homes Board (TSVHB) is a state agency dedicated to providing high-quality care and services to Tennessee's veterans and their families. Established by the Tennessee General Assembly in 1988, the Board operates multiple veterans' homes across the state.

They ensure those who have served the nation receive the care and respect they deserve. TSVHB's mission focuses on delivering optimal quality of care by rehabilitating residents to the maximum attainable level of independent functioning and providing 24-hour clinical oversight.

As of now, TSVHB operates five veterans' homes across Tennessee with a new one under construction:

• Knoxville: The Senator Ben Atchley Tennessee State Veterans' Home is a 140-bed facility in rural West Knoxville, offering spacious living areas, recreation rooms, and multiple outdoor patios.
• Murfreesboro: The Tennessee State Veterans' Home provides comprehensive care and services to veterans in this region.
• Clarksville: The Brigadier General Wendell H. Gilbert Tennessee State Veterans' Home offers skilled nursing care and rehabilitative services.
• Cleveland: The Tennessee State Veterans' Home serves veterans with a range of care options.
• Humboldt: The W.D. "Bill" Manning Tennessee State Veterans' Home delivers comprehensive care and services.
• Arlington: A new home is currently under construction expanding the Board's reach.

Governance

TSVHB is governed by a 13-member Board appointed by the Governor. The Executive Committee oversees day-to-day management and operations to ensure efficient facility operation and continued high-quality care.
