Success Academy

Success Academy Charter Schools is a network of free, public charter schools in New York City, dedicated to providing a rigorous K-12 education to students from diverse backgrounds. Founded in 2006 by Eva Moskowitz, a former city council member, the network has grown to encompass 57 schools.

These schools are spread across the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens, serving approximately 22,000 students. The mission is to deliver educational equity by fostering a love of learning and creating opportunities for children to become critical and creative thinkers, build life skills and confidence, pursue passions, and secure exceptional careers.

Success Academy offers a comprehensive curriculum that includes arts, chess, debate, and athletics, all at no cost to families. This includes school supplies, thousands of books, musical instruments, athletic equipment, art supplies, field trips, after-school clubs, uniforms, and Chromebooks.

In 2024, Success Academy students outperformed their peers in other charter schools and the larger state and New York City district schools in both math and reading. Notably, for eight consecutive years, 100% of Success Academy graduates have been accepted into four-year colleges, with many receiving financial aid that makes higher education accessible to their families.

The network's commitment to excellence is evident in its expansion plans, such as the upcoming SA Bronx K-12 Campus opening for the 2026-2027 school year. This state-of-the-art campus will feature collegiate-level classrooms, world-class STEM labs, and open spaces for collaboration, inspiring scholars to discover and develop their talents.
