Santa Maria Community Services

Santa Maria Community Services is a nonprofit organization based in Cincinnati, Ohio's Price Hill community. It is dedicated to empowering families through education, health, and financial stability programs. Established in 1897 by the Sisters of Charity, the organization has a long-standing commitment to fostering self-sufficiency.

Santa Maria aims to break the cycles of generational poverty by providing extensive support to the community it serves.

The mission of Santa Maria Community Services is to be a catalyst and advocate for Greater Price Hill families. It helps them achieve their educational, financial, and health goals.

Programs and Services

Santa Maria offers a comprehensive range of programs designed to support families in various aspects of their lives, including:

• Early Childhood Development: Healthy beginnings, preschool and kindergarten preparation, and parent resources.
• Education Advancement: GED preparation, academic advancement, tutoring, and English classes for speakers of other languages.
• Employment Assistance: Job search coaching, interview training, resume help, clothing closet, and employment retention coaching.
• Financial Stability: Financial tools, coaching, public benefits application assistance, housing stabilization, and credit building.
• Health & Wellness: Health education, screenings, medication referrals, mental health support, and free health fairs.
• Stable Families: Assistance for families at risk of homelessness through resource connection and crisis prevention.
• Youth Development: Social-emotional skills development, tutoring, family support, and stability resources for Oyler School students.

In addition, Santa Maria provides supportive services such as support groups, immigrant outreach, substance abuse prevention education, food distribution, legal aid assistance, and parenting supplies.

• East Price Hill Family Center: 3301 Warsaw Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45205. Open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
• Joe Williams Family Center (Youth Center): 2312 Glenway Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45204. Open Monday to Friday, 12 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Recent Initiatives and Recognitions

In May 2025, Santa Maria received a $30,000 grant to support its Promoting Our Preschoolers (POP) program. This initiative prepares children for kindergarten through home-based education and resources.

In September 2023, the organization was named a finalist for the Better Business Bureau® Torch Awards for Ethics. This recognition honors its commitment to ethics, integrity, and trust within the community.
