Monona Grove School District

The Monona Grove School District, located in Monona, Wisconsin, is a public educational institution serving the communities of Monona and Cottage Grove. Established in 1956, the district encompasses seven schools: four elementary schools, one middle school, and two high schools.

As of the 2023-2024 academic year, it serves approximately 3,696 students with a staff of 561.20 full-time equivalents, resulting in a student-teacher ratio of 12.37.

Educational Offerings

The district's educational offerings include:

• Elementary Schools: Winnequah School, Granite Ridge School, Cottage Grove Elementary School, and Taylor Prairie Elementary School.
• Middle School: Glacial Drumlin School.
• High Schools: Monona Grove High School and MG21 Charter School.

Monona Grove High School, established in 1999, serves students in grades 9-12. The MG21 Charter School, founded in 2010, offers an alternative education model for students in grades 6-12.

Glacial Drumlin School, located in Cottage Grove, serves students in grades 6-8. Cottage Grove School, Granite Ridge School, and Taylor Prairie School serve students in grades 1-5 and 4K-K, respectively.

Winnequah School serves students in grades 4K-5.

The Monona Grove School District is a member of the Badger Conference, a high school athletic conference in south-central Wisconsin.
