Facilities in Durham, North Carolina
MedPharm's Durham facilities play a pivotal role in its operations. The Stirrup Creek facility, covering 100,000 square feet, focuses on liquid and semi-solid drug product development and manufacturing.
This site provides end-to-end CDMO services for clinical through commercial production, specializing in semi-solid and liquid pharmaceuticals, small molecule drug products, biologic formulations, hormonal therapies, and high-potency active pharmaceutical ingredients (HPAPIs).
The facility features advanced infrastructure, including ISO 8 GMP compounding suites, hormone manufacturing suites, and high-potency suites. These ensure containment, quality, and regulatory compliance throughout all development and production stages.
The Emperor Boulevard facility, with 21,000 square feet, supports pharmaceutical and medical research.
It offers expertise in analytical testing, formulation development, microbiological analysis, tissue-based research, and performance testing.
Specializations at this facility include drug delivery assessment, in vitro permeation and release studies, stability testing, and bioanalytical services to ensure product efficacy, safety, and compliance.
The lab is equipped with advanced equipment such as HPLC/UPLC systems, LC-MS/MS systems, dissolution chambers, and various diffusion cells for in vitro and permeation testing.
Merger and Strategic Growth
In July 2024, MedPharm merged with Tergus Pharma, a Durham-based company specializing in topical pharmaceutical product research, formulation, drug development, testing, and clinical and commercial manufacturing.
This strategic merger has enhanced MedPharm's capabilities, enabling it to offer a more integrated service offering for ophthalmic, topical, and transdermal development and manufacturing projects.
