Ivy Hall

Ivy Hall is a historic venue located in Midtown Atlanta, Georgia, renowned for its architectural beauty and versatile event spaces. Constructed in 1883 by architect Gottfried L. Norrman, Ivy Hall is one of Georgia's earliest examples of Queen Anne-Victorian style architecture.

The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972, underscoring its cultural and historical significance.

Restoration and Current Use

In 2005, the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) acquired and extensively restored Ivy Hall, reopening it in 2008. The restoration preserved the building’s original character-defining features, including the slate roof, decorative sheet-metal, wood millwork, plaster finishes, and masonry.

Today, Ivy Hall serves as a gracious guest house for visiting scholars, classroom space for SCAD’s writing degree programs, and a resource and event space for the community.

Event Spaces

The venue offers a variety of spaces suitable for different events:

• The Vickery Room, the area’s largest ballroom, accommodates up to 250 guests and features floor-to-ceiling windows, hardwood floors, custom ceiling draping, and Edison light bulbs.
• The Brookside Room offers similar decor and can be used for ceremonies, cocktail hours, and receptions.
• A 25,000-square-foot deck overlooking Vickery Creek provides a picturesque setting for outdoor ceremonies and cocktail hours.

Rental and Services

Ivy Hall is available for rent for special occasions and corporate events throughout the year. The venue provides tables, chairs, linens in various colors, house centerpieces, and buffet decor.

An in-house wedding coordinator assists with all ceremony details and rehearsal management. The venue offers a range of cuisine and beverages, from casual buffets to formal sit-down dining experiences, including an extensive beverage list with champagne, wines, beers, premium liquor, cocktails, and open bar options.
