Inspiration Corporation

Inspiration Corporation is a Chicago-based nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting individuals and families affected by homelessness and poverty. Established in 1989 by Lisa Nigro, a Chicago Police Officer, the organization began by offering coffee and sandwiches to those in need. It has since evolved into a comprehensive service provider over the years.

Mission and Services

• Job Training: Offers an 8-week Foodservice Training program at Inspiration Kitchens, a social enterprise restaurant in East Garfield Park. Participants gain hands-on experience, earn certifications, and receive job placement support, preparing them for careers in the foodservice industry.
• Homeless Engagement Services: Engages with individuals experiencing homelessness in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood, connecting them with housing and supportive services to help them achieve their personal goals.
