16" On Center (16OC) is a Chicago-based hospitality collective renowned for revitalizing historic venues and creating vibrant spaces that foster community engagement. Founded by Bruce Finkelman and Craig Golden, 16OC has transformed iconic Chicago landmarks into dynamic hubs for music, dining, and cultural events.
The collective's inaugural project, The Empty Bottle, established in 1994 in the Ukrainian Village neighborhood, quickly became a cornerstone of Chicago's music scene. It earned recognition as one of the city's premier rock clubs.
This success laid the foundation for 16OC's expansion into various neighborhoods, including Logan Square, Pilsen, Hyde Park, and the West Loop. Each venue reflects the unique character and spirit of its community.

Major Projects and Venues
A notable achievement is the transformation of the historic Morton Salt Factory into The Salt Shed, a state-of-the-art music venue opened in 2022. This project preserved the industrial charm of the building while introducing modern amenities.
The Salt Shed features a top-tier sound system and versatile event spaces, becoming a premier destination for live performances. Artists like Iggy Pop and Japanese Breakfast have performed here.
In addition to music venues, 16OC has diversified its portfolio to include dining establishments and event spaces. From Here On, located within the Old Post Office building, serves as a marketplace showcasing Chicago's culinary and artistic talents.
From Here On offers a variety of dining options, live music, and community events. The Promontory in Hyde Park provides a venue for live entertainment and private events.
