Store Manager Duties & Responsibilities

Motivate and guide the sales team to achieve sales objectives through training and mentoring
Initiate changes to improve business competitiveness, such as revising opening hours
Create and organize promotional material and in-store displays
Prepare detailed reports on buying trends, customer needs and profits
Monitor inventory levels and initiate orders for new items
Oversee the hiring, training and supervision of new staff
Address customer complaints and concerns professionally
Stay informed about market trends, customer initiatives and local competitors
Promote the organization locally by engaging with schools, newspapers and the community
Implement security systems and measures to protect merchandise, employees and customers
Ensure store compliance with health and safety regulations

Store Manager Experience Requirements & Skills

Minimum of 3 years of experience in a retail environment, preferably in a managerial role
Customer service-oriented with a deep understanding of basic business management processes
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills
Possesses an empathetic leadership approach with the ability to make crucial decisions
Ability to be creative in planning for visually appealing store displays
Ability to work under pressure
