RoomOne Celebrates Milestone In PTAC Recycling Partnership

RoomOne has reached a major milestone by partnering with its 1,000th hotel property to promote environmentally responsible PTAC unit disposal. Major hotel brands including IHG, Red Roof and Pyramid are collaborating to prevent millions of pounds of waste from landfills while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

This initiative tackles the critical issue of improper PTAC disposal, which can release refrigerants damaging the atmosphere and violating the Clean Air Act. Hotels often discard old units without recycling, risking legal and environmental consequences. RoomOne provides a free recycling solution that collects, processes and reuses PTAC units, turning waste into usable materials.

  • Milestone achievement: Partnership with 1,000 hotels
  • Supports: Industry-wide sustainability goals
  • Annual impact: Recycles tens of thousands of units
  • Cost: Hotels avoid disposal fees through free services

Tyler Oberholzer from RoomOne emphasized their aim to make responsible disposal effortless for Hoteliers. The company’s model helps Hotels adopt sustainable practices seamlessly, enhancing compliance and reducing environmental footprint.

By ensuring proper recycling, RoomOne helps the industry uphold sustainability initiatives while avoiding regulatory risks. This milestone underscores a growing industry awareness and commitment to environmentally sound waste management practices.
