Cafe Manager Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day cafe operations for smooth functioning
- Recruit, onboard and train new wait staff and baristas
- Provide comprehensive training on drink preparation and proper use of coffee equipment
- Collaborate with vendors to order essential supplies like takeaway cups, coffee and ingredients
- Maintain records of daily, weekly and monthly revenues and expenses
- Introduce seasonal and customer-preferred menu items
- Offer guidance to staff for effective issue resolution and delivery of excellent customer service
- Ensure cleanliness and tidiness in all cafe areas
- Cultivate friendly relationships with customers to enhance loyalty and improve the cafe’s reputation
Cafe Manager Qualifications & Skills
- Proven track record as a Cafe Manager or Barista in a dynamic coffee shop environment
- Proficient hands-on experience with state-of-the-art coffee machines
- Strong mathematical aptitude for handling financial aspects efficiently
- Flexibility to work during opening hours, including weekends and holidays
- Exceptional communication skills to effectively lead, manage and motivate a diverse team
- Customer-centric mindset with a commitment to delivering outstanding service
Cafe Manager Education
- Minimum of a high school diploma or general educational development (GED)
- Additional certification in fields like Business Administration or Hospitality is considered a valuable asset
- Possession of a valid food handler’s license
