Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in custodial or grounds maintenance work preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in custodial or grounds maintenance work preferred
- Ability to operate grounds maintenance equipment
- Valid driver’s license required for mail and supply runs
- Willingness to participate in training programs
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Job Duties
- Perform custodial duties throughout the park
- Participate in pest control programs with training
- Perform ground maintenance work including raking leaves, spreading tanbark or gravel
- Perform mail and supply runs to the Bronx Zoo regularly and as requested with valid driver’s license and training
- Offer aid, help, directions, and provide information to the public
- Assist in the movement of Zoo equipment, supplies and refuse
- Assist in maintaining areas other than those assigned as conditions may require
- Move furniture or office equipment, move and set up tables and chairs
- Enforce the Society visitors' rules and regulations and those of the Department of Parks of the City of New York
- Perform related tasks and duties as required
