Job Requirements
- Minimum 3 months part time related experience in a zoological or animal facility
- strong verbal and written English skills
- ability to communicate effectively with the public
- valid California driver’s license
- valid vehicle insurance
- enrollment in CA Employer Pull Notice program
- successful completion of the FCZ Drivers Training Program
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 3 months part time (377 hours) related experience in a zoological or animal facility
- strong verbal and written English skills
- ability to communicate effectively with the public
- bilingual skills a plus
- valid California driver’s license
- valid vehicle insurance
- enrollment in CA Employer Pull Notice program
- successful completion of the FCZ Drivers Training Program
Job Duties
- Prepares and administers appropriate daily diets at designated times
- ensures animals have sufficient fresh water
- implements effective behavioral enrichment for selected animals
- observes animal behavior and reports irregularities
- maintains accurate feeding and health records
- cleans and disinfects animal enclosures
- stocks supplies and reports low inventory
- assists with animal training and welfare assessments
- supports hospital staff with animal treatment and medication administration
- assists in emergency response situations
- reports vandalism and animal welfare concerns
- assists with crating and moving animals
- performs special assignments and projects
- operates a vehicle for business purposes safely
