Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work at least four shifts per week including two shifts on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday evenings
  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Job Qualifications

  • At least one year of line cook experience preferred but not required
  • Reputation for excellent relations with all staff
  • Reputation for maintaining a safe and clean kitchen
  • Experience in Asian cooking is a plus but not required
  • Must be able to work weekends and Sundays

Job Duties

  • Work on the line under the direction of the chef and expo ensuring stations are set up correctly
  • Prepare food according to recipes, adhering to quality and presentation standards
  • Efficiently and accurately clean equipment
  • Follow and uphold all of Zingerman's standards
  • Complete Training Passport within stated timeframes and continue to live the Training Compact
  • Build and maintain Standard Operating Procedures as trained and needed
  • Maintain proper station setup and a clean, organized work area
