Job Description

Zingerman's Coffee Company is a renowned wholesale coffee roaster that supplies coffee to cafes, restaurants, and various businesses. Located on the southside of Ann Arbor, they take pride in serving their single estate, small batch coffees at their welcoming coffee bar. Known for their dedication to quality and a passion for great coffee, Zingerman's Coffee Company combines the art of coffee roasting with outstanding customer service. Job Requirements

  • Ability to work full-time shifts including weekends and holidays
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • basic math skills for handling transactions
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • willingness to learn about coffee brewing and roasting
  • punctuality and reliability
  • adherence to dress code and company policies

Job Qualifications

  • Experience working in customer service or retail preferred
  • experience working in a food service environment preferred
  • experience using a Point of Sale system
  • reputation for providing great service to guests and co-workers
  • able to work holidays and weekends

Job Duties

  • Greets and assists guests with enthusiasm and high energy
  • brews and converses on all brewing methods for teas and coffees
  • prepares espresso-based drinks including milk steaming and drink construction
  • tastes and scores coffee at least once per shift, logging results
  • adjusts coffee for best tasting espresso
  • improves personal skills and knowledge around coffee
  • handles monetary transactions and sales using Point of Sale system
  • follows opening, closing and other procedural checklists
  • restocks and rotates products
  • learns and shares basics of coffee roasting process and production schedule
  • recognizes and communicates errors and potential quality problems
  • keeps dining areas and workspaces neat, clean and sanitary
  • participates in financial measurements effectiveness
  • participates actively in huddles, meetings, and events
  • arrives on time for all shifts, meetings, and classes
  • adheres to dress code standards
  • passionate for great coffee and great service
