Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Reliable transportation
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license and car insurance
  • Fewer than 6 points in the last three years on your motor vehicle record
  • Can push, lift or carry up to 50 lbs and can climb, balance, kneel and crouch
  • Ability to complete all required training and certifications successfully
  • Willingness to work varying schedules including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience in healthcare or developmental disability support is a plus but not required
  • Ability to complete training and obtain CPR, First Aid and Medication Administration certifications
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Leadership experience or capability
  • Patience and empathy towards individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Reliable transportation and valid Ohio driver’s license

Job Duties

  • Providing direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Supervising, teaching and assisting individuals in all aspects of his/her life
  • Completing various household tasks including meal preparation and maintaining a clean and safe living environment
  • Providing personal care assistance
  • Leading and mentoring other direct support professionals
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Coordinating with healthcare professionals and family members to tailor individual care plans
