Job Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED
- Reliable transportation
- Valid Ohio driver’s license and car insurance
- Fewer than 6 points in the last three years on your motor vehicle record
- Can push, lift or carry up to 50 lbs and can climb, balance, kneel and crouch
- Ability to complete all required training and certifications successfully
- Willingness to work varying schedules including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in healthcare or developmental disability support is a plus but not required
- Ability to complete training and obtain CPR, First Aid and Medication Administration certifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Leadership experience or capability
- Patience and empathy towards individuals with developmental disabilities
- Reliable transportation and valid Ohio driver’s license
Job Duties
- Providing direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities
- Supervising, teaching and assisting individuals in all aspects of his/her life
- Completing various household tasks including meal preparation and maintaining a clean and safe living environment
- Providing personal care assistance
- Leading and mentoring other direct support professionals
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
- Coordinating with healthcare professionals and family members to tailor individual care plans
