Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience working with youth or vulnerable populations
- Ability to work Friday and Saturday 6pm to 2am shifts
- Ability to drive and travel between shelter locations
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to perform crisis intervention and de-escalation
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a dynamic work environment
- Computer literacy including Microsoft Office
- Pass background checks including criminal, motor vehicle, and DHS
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion
- Willingness to comply with The Link policies and hotel regulations
Job Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness
- Knowledge of child welfare systems and community resources
- Experience with comprehensive and holistic supportive services for young people
- Training in youth development, harm reduction, and trauma informed care
- Desire for continuous personal and professional growth
- High level of personal and professional integrity including confidentiality and data privacy
- Creative and able to engage diverse needs and learning styles
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively with and relate to diverse populations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills especially for client advocacy
- Ability to work independently
- Demonstrated ability to organize, coordinate, track multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Preferred knowledge of trauma informed care, strengths-based approach, harm reduction, and positive youth development
- Ability to pass criminal, motor vehicle, and DHS background checks
- Consistent, regular attendance
Job Duties
- Provide high level supervision of youth to ensure safety and security for all youth, staff, and community
- Conduct regular safety rounds and room checks during the shift
- Develop nurturing relationships and maintain professional boundaries with clients and hotel staff
- Assist with case management and coordination of services as needed
- Provide clear daily communication with Program Manager and team members
- Drive to other shelter locations if required to meet client needs
- Carry resources and supplies for provision to clients
- Form relationships with clients and update information affecting eligibility for housing programs
- Communicate post-housing services to clients moving out
- Uphold policies of The Link and hotels
- Manage Hotel Tracking Sheet and Hotel Wait List
- Ensure clients are formally checked out when leaving
- Complete progress/case notes and maintain participant records
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation services
- Foster a warm, welcoming, and supportive community culture for youth
