Job Requirements

  • Completion of at least two years as a Staff Associate
  • Completion of core training phase one as a Staff Associate
  • Attendance at YoungLives trainings as directed
  • Participation in missionwide staff conference every four years
  • Participation in additional training if necessary such as urban exposure and Taking Donors Seriously training
  • Attendance at regional training as directed
  • Pursuit of continuing educational opportunities including graduate degrees
  • College degree preferred
  • Completion of training as determined by supervisor

Job Duties

  • Develop a yearly personal growth plan fostering spiritual life including prayer, solitude, and reflection
  • Seek and maintain relationships within a church community
  • Actively participate in the spiritual life of the Young Life community
  • Lead teams and individuals in spiritual development
  • Ensure ministry activities are prayer-dependent and Christ-centered
  • Meet regularly with mentors, childcare, and volunteer leaders
  • Assist in recruiting and training volunteers to build leadership teams reflecting the community
  • Attend and participate in area leadership meetings
  • Train volunteers and committee members to work effectively in teams
  • Model excellence in club, contact work, Campaigners, and camping
  • Train and lead a team in developing a yearly ministry strategy
  • Raise financial support and maintain donor care practices
  • Communicate ministry updates to donor partners
  • Develop strategic relationships with community leaders including principals, pastors, and parents
  • Plan and execute area fundraising events
  • Partner with area director to build YoungLives sub-committee
  • Maintain relationships with schools, parenting programs, crisis centers, and community organizations
  • Actively engage in all levels of contact work
  • Lead regular outreach meetings and Campaigners with excellence
  • Implement summer and school-season camping strategies
  • Serve on summer assignments at Young Life camps or properties
  • Adhere to Young Life policies and maintain professionalism
  • Ensure health and safety policies are followed
  • Manage finances with stewardship and accountability
  • Maintain accurate records on kids, leaders and donors
  • Provide clear and professional communication in ministry
  • Set and review yearly strategic ministry plans
  • Perform other duties aligned with skills and area needs
  • Accept both short and long-term assignments of projects
