Job Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Experience in working with school age children
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and fingerprint check in accordance with Bright from the Start Licensing requirements
- Intermediate understanding of computer technology and ability to learn new systems
- CPR and First Aid certification required within 90 days of employment
- Completion of 18 Bright From the Start approved training hours annually
- If assigned to transportation responsibilities, maintain state required transportation safety training

- Experience working with school age children

- Intermediate computer skills and ability to learn new systems

- Completion and maintenance of 18 Bright From the Start approved training hours per year
- State required transportation safety training if assigned to transportation duties
- Childcare Development Associates (CDA), Technical College Certificate (TCC) in early childhood education or related field, or Bachelor's degree, with qualifying experience substitutable for degree
Job Duties
- Engage actively while interacting with and supervising groups of children indoors and outdoors
- Plan, schedule and implement curriculum in coordination with the Program Director, including setting up interest centers and activities
- Maintain daily attendance reports, assigned records and perform clerical tasks including supply and material ordering
- Coordinate supervision transitions between school dismissal and parent pickup, ensuring children are properly signed in and out
- Ensure compliance with state transportation requirements, maintain accurate bus logs and checklists if assigned to transportation duties
- Greet and integrate participants into the program and assist with signing in and out
- Perform general housekeeping tasks including sanitizing and disinfecting program areas and supplies
- Distribute snacks and meals according to regulations, maintain accurate meal counts and submit reports
- Uphold YMCA standards of professionalism in conduct, dress, and communication
- Treat participants, families and staff with fairness, dignity and respect
- Communicate with legal caregivers regarding developmental or behavioral challenges
- Implement Quality Rated practices and maintain staff accountability
- Participate in program feedback initiatives and family engagement events
- Receive and apply feedback from supervisors and audits
- Maintain accurate staff and participant files, including immunization records
- Report suspicions of child abuse or neglect as a Mandated Reporter
- Attend all staff meetings and training programs
- Provide staff development and participate in hiring when requested
- Ensure adherence to YBASE policies and supervise staff and volunteers
- Maintain state and YMCA training hour requirements annually
- Assist in member retention and fundraising campaigns
- Perform other duties as assigned
