Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- basic understanding of current child development principles
- experience working with school age children preferred
- must be able to pass criminal background check and fingerprint check
- basic understanding of computer technology and ability to learn new systems
- CPR and First Aid certification within 90 days of employment
- completion of 18 Bright From the Start training hours per year
- maintain transportation safety training if assigned transportation responsibilities
- high school diploma or GED preferred

- basic understanding of computer technology and ability to learn new systems
- high school diploma or GED preferred

- completion of 18 Bright From the Start approved training hours annually
- if assigned transportation duties, maintain state required transportation safety training
Job Duties
- Engage actively while interacting with and supervising groups of children indoors and outdoors
- implement curriculum to group provided by the Program Director including setting up interest centers and gross motor equipment
- assist Site Director in maintaining daily attendance reports and routine clerical tasks
- coordinate the transition of supervision between school day and parent pickup ensuring proper sign-in/out and accurate transportation records
- ensure all state requirements are met for transportation duties including supervision and maintaining bus logs
- greet and integrate participants and prepare children for parent pick up
- assist Site Director with housekeeping tasks including sanitizing and disinfecting YBASE areas
- distribute snacks and meals according to regulations and maintain accurate meal counts
- treat participants, families, and staff with fairness and respect
- uphold YMCA standards of professionalism
- participate in program feedback initiatives and family engagement events
- report suspicions of child abuse or neglect as a Mandated Reporter
- attend staff meetings and training programs
- follow and maintain YBASE policies and procedures
- maintain state and YMCA training hour requirements annually
- perform other duties as assigned
- assist in retention and satisfaction of YMCA members through customer service
- assist in Annual Campaign fundraising program
