Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous heavy equipment operating experience preferred
- ability to perform routine equipment maintenance and inspections
- must be physically able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- willingness to comply with all safety policies and procedures
- must be able to work overtime and extended hours when required
- ability to understand and follow operating instructions and safety protocols
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience operating heavy construction equipment preferred
- knowledge of general principles and practices of operating and servicing heavy construction equipment
- ability to work effectively in a team environment
- strong commitment to workplace safety
- flexibility to work overtime and extended hours as needed
- ability to work outside in various weather conditions and tolerate loud noises
Job Duties
- Promote safety throughout operations in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards
- operate off-highway heavy equipment to transport raw and finished materials safely and efficiently
- perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections
- complete accurate daily mobile equipment reports and documentation
- check and maintain equipment fluid levels and assist in minor maintenance
- monitor plant operations and report maintenance needs for safety compliance
- perform other duties as assigned
