Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • must have a high school diploma or GED
  • valid driver's license
  • clear a FBI fingerprint background check
  • able to proficiently speak, read, and write in English
  • basic computer literacy
  • previous ramp or airline experience
  • physically fit to perform job duties including standing, lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling
  • capable of repetitively lifting up to 70 pounds in confined spaces
  • willing to work outside in all types of weather conditions with exposure to loud noises
  • able and flexible to work variable shifts, weekends, and holiday shifts
  • capable of processing information in a timely manner
  • must successfully complete all training requirements and maintain certifications throughout employment

Job Qualifications

  • previous ramp or airline experience
  • able to proficiently speak, read, and write in English

  • ability to navigate electronic devices such as computers, fax machines, printers, and timeclocks
  • working knowledge of ground support equipment maintenance issues
  • understanding of commercial issues in aviation

Job Duties

  • Report to work on a regular and timely basis
  • ensure cargo agents are in personal protective equipment and ready to perform duties
  • provide input on operational improvements and efficiencies
  • report operational feedback for flight delays and performance to leadership
  • address security related issues to leadership and manage meetings
  • perform under pressure and within fixed time constraints
  • ensure cargo agents adhere to uniform standards
  • load and unload air cargo on and off aircraft, carts, containers, and trucks
  • transport cargo between terminals and aircraft
  • prepare and palletize cargo as needed
  • read and legibly complete cargo documents and forms necessary to airline requirements
  • assure proper handling and delivery of cargo and operation of related equipment
  • follow dangerous goods requirements and regulations
  • comply with GAT Airline Ground Support standard operating procedures and policies
  • pick-up and delivery of cargo as indicated
  • perform all other duties as assigned
