Job Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in hotel or related field
- Associate degree or higher
- Certification in Food Handlers, Alcohol Awareness, CPR and First Aid
- Proficiency in Windows and office software
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations
- Problem-solving skills
- Ability to analyze complex information
- Financial literacy
- Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
Job Qualifications
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field with a 2-year college degree and 3 or more years of related experience or a 4-year college degree with 1 to 2 years of related experience or a Culinary Degree with 1 to 2 years of progressive hotel or related experience
- Holds and maintains certifications including Food Handlers, Alcohol Awareness, CPR and First Aid
- Proficient in Windows operating systems, company-approved spreadsheets and word processing
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Able to convey information and ideas clearly
- Able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
- Able to work well in stressful, high pressure situations
- Maintains composure and objectivity under pressure
- Effective in handling workplace problems including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems
- Ability to assimilate complex information from disparate sources and adjust as necessary
- Effective at listening to, understanding, clarifying and resolving concerns raised by coworkers and guests
- Able to understand financial information and basic arithmetic functions
Job Duties
- Assist in providing oversight of kitchen staff, outlets, banquet food display merchandising and operations of the Kitchen and Banquet departments as required
- Work towards improving Café, Room Service, Lounge and Banquet sales revenues to exceed budget in partnership with the Food & Beverage Director and staff
- Understand the general organization of the hotel and the function of each department
- Communicate in a timely and efficient manner
- Assist the Food & Beverage Director with forecasting and budgeting
- Maintain professional working relationships and promote open communication with managers, employees and other departments
- Stay knowledgeable and aware of local competition and industry trends
