Job Requirements
- Minimum age 18
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of company orientation
- Completion of food safety and sanitation training upon hire
- Ability to function in a fast-paced retail environment
- Ability to work with customers and stay attentive to their needs
- Ability to perform department-specific duties
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, bend, and lift according to department requirements
- Ability to follow safe lifting practices

Job Duties
- Provides superior customer service
- Takes orders from customers by telephone or in person
- Answers customer questions regarding products and assists them with selections
- Prepares, packages, and merchandises fresh product effectively
- Slices, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for poor quality
- Assists in technical areas as needed
- Uses suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to meet customer needs and build department sales
- Cleans and sanitizes display cases
- Operates and maintains equipment properly
- Complies with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards
- Complies with department and store operating procedures
- Records production and shrink to aid in production planning (Bakery)
- Takes care of service counter customers and uses ordering system applications (Deli)
- Performs inventory management processes and ensures catering orders are ready (Deli)
- Serves and packages products at customer request and educates customers on preparation (Prepared Foods)
