Job Requirements

  • must be at least 21 years old
  • must be willing to work evening and weekend shifts
  • must obtain TAPS alcohol server certificate and Alaska Food Worker card within first shift if not already certified
  • ability to lift or maneuver heavy objects
  • pass a background check
  • applicant must be a UA student with minimum 6 credits per semester and minimum GPA of 2.0 or newly enrolled student

Job Qualifications

  • enrolled as a UA student taking a minimum of 6 credits per semester or a newly enrolled student
  • minimum GPA of 2.0
  • current or obtained alchohol server education certificate (TAPS)
  • current or obtained Alaska Food Worker card
  • prior experience with live sound reinforcement preferred for Pub Sound Technician role
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to work evening and weekend hours
  • ability to work independently and in a team environment

Job Duties

  • serve drinks and engage with students and staff at the Pub
  • enforce state laws and university policies regarding alcohol service
  • handle money responsibly during transactions
  • assist with planning and implementation of events and activities
  • maintain daily operations and cleanliness of the Pub
  • adapt to changing workloads and work cooperative with other employees
  • provide sound reinforcement and operate sound equipment during live events
