  • Minimum six months wok-cooking experience or nine months sauté experience with wok training

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum six months of wok-cooking experience preparing food to order including ability to work two woks simultaneously
  • if no wok experience, minimum nine months of sauté experience in high volume casual dining kitchen with successful completion of wok training

  • ability to speak, read, and comprehend instructions and policy documents
  • ability to communicate professionally
  • ability to work in varied kitchen temperatures
  • ability to stand and walk for up to nine hours
  • exceptional knife handling skills
  • ability to adapt to new menu items and cooking techniques
  • capacity to perform basic math and measurement calculations
  • physical ability to reach, bend, balance, and lift up to 50 pounds

Job Duties

  • Follow recipes and product directions for preparing and wok-cooking specified menu items
  • work with urgency to meet time goals while adhering to recipe standards
  • display attention to detail and food presentation
  • taste products and follow menus
  • estimate food requirements and check production
  • perform basic math and measurement calculations
  • operate kitchen equipment including choppers and fryers
  • handle knives safely wearing cut gloves
  • maintain quality control including monitoring product freshness
  • clean and sanitize work stations and equipment
  • follow food safety, sanitation practices, and HACCP standards
  • stock, date, rotate, and check temperature of products
  • receive, move, and lift food and beverage products and supplies
  • comply with HMSHost, franchise policies, and applicable regulatory agencies
