Job Requirements

  • 3+ years experience as a sommelier or wine steward in a fast-paced service environment
  • Extensive knowledge and passion for wine, beer, and spirits
  • Ability to provide exceptional guest service with professionalism and composure
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Fluency in English
  • Flexibility in working hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical ability to perform job duties including standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and using stairs

Job Qualifications

  • 3+ years as a sommelier or wine steward in a fast-paced, high-volume service environment or equivalent relevant experience
  • Extensive knowledge of and a genuine love for wine, winemaking, beer and spirits
  • Ability to consistently deliver high-quality guest experiences and exceed guest expectations

  • Ability to execute professional guest service with a calm and composed demeanor

Job Duties

  • Maximize beverage sales including wine, beer, spirits, and deliver exceptional guest experiences
  • Drive beverage sales on the floor by upselling, suggesting, educating, and interacting with guests
  • Handle table bottle orders from beginning to end, including order taking, delivery, proper opening and service, and checkbacks
  • Ensure wine quality before every shift
  • Maintain a floor presence during service to attend to guest needs, touch tables, and assist in service as necessary
  • Attend daily pre-shift to communicate daily beverage products in and out of stock and conduct trainings and/or tastings as appropriate
  • Guide and teach staff about beverage offerings and answer questions to further staff education and menu knowledge
  • Actively participate in beverage inventories on a daily and monthly basis when needed, including counting, stocking inventories, and updating 86 board
  • Follow all health and safety regulations, including enforcing laws and ordinances in handling alcoholic beverages
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas
  • Perform all other reasonably assigned duties
