Job Requirements

3+ years experience as a sommelier or wine steward in a fast-paced service environment
Extensive knowledge and passion for wine, beer, and spirits
Ability to provide exceptional guest service with professionalism and composure
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Fluency in English
Flexibility in working hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
Physical ability to perform job duties including standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and using stairs

Job Qualifications

3+ years as a sommelier or wine steward in a fast-paced, high-volume service environment or equivalent relevant experience
Extensive knowledge of and a genuine love for wine, winemaking, beer and spirits
Ability to consistently deliver high-quality guest experiences and exceed guest expectations
Strong work ethic and team player mentality
Exceptional guest service skills
Ability to execute professional guest service with a calm and composed demeanor
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Polished presentation
Ability to take direction and communicate effectively
Proven interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with coworkers and guests
Aptitude to resolve problems
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Fluency in English including reading, writing, and communication
Basic business mathematics and POS operation skills
Ability to work flexible schedules including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and navigate stairs

Job Duties

Maximize beverage sales including wine, beer, spirits, and deliver exceptional guest experiences
Drive beverage sales on the floor by upselling, suggesting, educating, and interacting with guests
Handle table bottle orders from beginning to end, including order taking, delivery, proper opening and service, and checkbacks
Ensure wine quality before every shift
Maintain a floor presence during service to attend to guest needs, touch tables, and assist in service as necessary
Attend daily pre-shift to communicate daily beverage products in and out of stock and conduct trainings and/or tastings as appropriate
Guide and teach staff about beverage offerings and answer questions to further staff education and menu knowledge
Actively participate in beverage inventories on a daily and monthly basis when needed, including counting, stocking inventories, and updating 86 board
Follow all health and safety regulations, including enforcing laws and ordinances in handling alcoholic beverages
Follow all company policies, procedures, and guidelines
Maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas
Perform all other reasonably assigned duties
