Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in retail or related field preferred
- Availability to work night and weekend shifts
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions accurately
- Commitment to adhering to company policies and sanitation standards
- Punctual and reliable work attendance
Job Qualifications
- High school or equivalent experience
- Six months or less of related work experience
- Ability to follow written, verbal, or diagrammatic instructions
- Ability to do arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals and percentages
- Ability to file, post, and mail materials
- Ability to copy data and conduct basic interviews
- Good communication skills
- Leadership and supervisory abilities
- Customer service orientation
Job Duties
- Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store
- Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the employee’s designated department or elsewhere in the store
- Makes an effort to learn customers’ names and to address them by name whenever possible
- Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing products out of reach, loading or unloading heavy items, making note of and passing along customer suggestions, performing other tasks to enhance the shopping experience
- Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service
- Stocks, rotates, and faces product on shelves
- Supervises and assigns work for evening/part-time crew
- Ensures department standards are met and handles customer issues
- Trains new employees
- Reviews inventory including out of stocks, ad items, and back stock
- Orders merchandise as directed and controls inventory
- Monitors sales regularly
- Meets with vendors to obtain point of purchase materials and sales-enhancing items
- Oversees intercom selling and prices display items
- Makes sales suggestions to department manager
- Practices and enforces proper sanitation and hygiene procedures
- Adheres to company policies and store guidelines
- Reports to work as scheduled and on time
- Assumes management duties in the absence of Department Manager
- Unloads trucks and stocks product appropriately
- Cleans display cases and monitors equipment and floor maintenance
- Reviews and updates price tags and signage
- Assists in other store areas as needed
- Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required
