Job Requirements

- Detailed description of specific duties performed in prior experience
- One year of specialized work experience for GW-05
- Two years of specialized work experience for GW-06
- Completion of a 4-year bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Compliance with NWCG position requirements
- Ability to work long, irregular hours under physically demanding conditions
- Use of safety equipment including hearing and eye protection
- Submission of transcripts if qualifying based on education
- Foreign education credential evaluation if applicable
Job Qualifications
- One year of specialized work experience equivalent to the GW/GS-04 level for GW-05
- 2 years of specialized experience equivalent to GW/GS-05 level for GW-06
- Education in Fire Science, Fire Training, or Fire Technology for GW-05 qualification
- Knowledge of airbase operations and safety procedures
- Proficiency with computer software and data entry
- Ability to communicate effectively via two-way radio
- Physical capability to perform demanding work outdoors and around aircraft
Job Duties
- Manage ramp operations including parking, loading, and movement of aircraft
- Operate two-way radios for communication with ramp personnel, aircraft, and dispatch centers
- Compile data for daily summaries and annual reports
- Monitor and ensure safety compliance in airbase environments
- Handle setup, maintenance, and tear down of airbase equipment
- Prepare reports and flight records related to fire operations
- Respond effectively to emergency situations during fire operations
