Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of community and neighborhoods served by the local WIC program
  • Fluency in English
  • Availability to work Monday to Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm with some nights and weekends
  • Ability to maintain an organized work area and collaborate as a team member
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and community partners
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or associate's degree preferred
  • Knowledge of community and neighborhoods served by the local WIC program
  • Fluency in English required
  • Bilingual in Portuguese, CV Creole or Spanish preferred
  • Minimum of two years experience in community work, outreach, or health and human services preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and positive approach to patient interaction

Job Duties

  • Develop and maintain community liaison with health and human services providers and advocacy organizations
  • Build an active, coordinated referral network and collaborative, working relationships between community agencies, groups and WIC
  • Promote the utilization of WIC services within the community
  • Assist with retention activities to strengthen communication with WIC participants about eligibility and recertification
  • Participate in community events, including some nights and weekends as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of community outreach and referral activities
  • Collaborate with team members to support program goals and improve service delivery
