Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in customer service or transportation preferred
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy weights up to 75 lbs
  • Ability to push/pull up to 300 lbs safely
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to complete airport security background check and obtain airport badge
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods
  • Willingness to learn and follow safety protocols

Job Qualifications

  • Able to lift up to 75 lbs and push wheelchair passenger weighing up to 300 lbs
  • Skilled in navigating wheelchairs over various surfaces and confined spaces
  • Ability to transfer wheelchair passengers to and from airplane seats
  • Proficient with computer and smart phone
  • Capable of standing for extended periods
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to complete all required training including airport compliance

Job Duties

  • Transport arriving and departing wheelchair passengers to terminals gates and other airport areas
  • Assist passengers with transport of luggage
  • Conduct daily inspections of wheelchairs for necessary repairs and maintenance
  • Ensure completion of required wheelchair or incident reports
  • Follow safety requirements when assisting passengers in and out of wheelchairs
  • Provide exceptional customer service and greet passengers in a friendly manner
  • Follow airport security regulations and display required security badge
  • Assist with luggage carts as needed
  • Coordinate and schedule wheelchair transportation requests for passengers
  • Ensure timely arrival and departure of Wheelchair Agents for scheduled requests
  • Assign wheelchair requests through software to Wheelchair Agents
  • Ensure enough wheelchairs are staged for arriving and departing flights
  • Ensure Wheelchair Agents are equipped with client-specific needs information
  • Monitor Wheelchair Agents status and communicate delays or changes to passengers
  • Communicate with Wheelchair Agents regarding assignments
  • Report damaged wheelchairs to management
  • Communicate operational changes to management
  • Ensure all wheelchairs comply with safety regulations
  • Adhere to state, federal, and company regulations on accessibility and safety
  • Monitor Wheelchair Agents follow proper procedures for passenger loading and securing
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management
