Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years progressive experience in food and beverage or hospitality management
- Culinary degree or related college degree preferred
- Valid certifications including food handlers alcohol awareness CPR and first aid
- Proficiency in Windows operating system and relevant software
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including overtime as needed
- Experience with budgeting forecasting and labor management
- Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Capable of working under pressure and maintaining professionalism
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
Job Qualifications
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field with a 2-year college degree and 3 or more years of related experience or a 4-year college degree with 1 to 2 years of related experience or a culinary degree with 1 to 2 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field
- Holds and maintains applicable certification requirements including food handlers alcohol awareness CPR and first aid
- Proficient in Windows operating systems company approved spreadsheets and word processing
- Extensive experience in restaurant bar banquet catering in room dining and kitchen management
- Effective communication skills with the ability to convey information and ideas clearly
- Strong problem solving abilities and quick decision making skills
- Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
- Skilled in anticipating preventing identifying and solving workplace problems
- Ability to assimilate complex information from disparate sources and adjust to meet constraints
- Effective at listening understanding clarifying and resolving concerns of co-workers and guests
- Ability to work with and understand financial information and data including basic arithmetic
- Knowledgeable in the general organization of a hotel and the function of each department
- Strong communication skills including speaking reading and writing along with basic technological proficiency
- Knowledge and experience with forecasting budgeting labor management and purchasing to maximize productivity
- Able to complete forecasting and budgeting tasks efficiently and timely
- Ability to maintain professional working relationships and promote communication with managers employees and other departments
- Awareness of local competition and industry trends
Job Duties
- Organize direct supervise and assist in the preparation and service of all food and beverage based on standardized recipes for the restaurant room service market employee cafeteria and banquets while maintaining the highest standards to produce an appealing and appetizing product
- Ensure cleanliness sanitation and safety in kitchens service stations FOH BOH work and storage areas while minimizing waste and maximizing cost production ratio
- Plan meals and services while directing and guiding the chef with various assignments including pricing and banquets
- Provide oversight of kitchen staff outlets banquet food display merchandising and operations of kitchen service beverage and banquet departments as required
- Handle cash prepare and deposit cash drops secure and balance bank
- Interact with guests and colleagues occasionally with unsupervised contact
- Access and control sensitive areas in hotel including hotel safe master keys guestrooms storage liquor room and secured file cabinets
