Job Requirements

  • Current CPR certification
  • Ability to swim and act as a lifeguard (training available if needed)
  • Prior experience teaching fitness or wellness classes
  • Basic knowledge of gym equipment and safe exercise practices
  • Valid NC driver's license (age 25+) with ability to drive a 14-passenger bus or company vehicle

Job Qualifications

  • SilverSneakers, Golden Hearts, other senior-fitness certification, or prior experience working with older adults in a wellness/fitness setting
  • Group exercise certification (AFAA, ACE, etc.)
  • Certified Personal Trainer certificate
  • Excellent communication and customer-service skills

Job Duties

  • Lead group fitness classes on land and in the pool, including water aerobics, strength/toning, stretching, and arthritis aquatics
  • Serve as a lifeguard and provide safe, supportive assistance for residents entering/exiting the pool or using fitness equipment
  • Maintain and help monitor exercise and aquatic equipment, reporting needs or concerns as they arise
  • Orient residents and team members to equipment and facility use
  • Support special wellness events including Senior Olympics, team member/resident games, water volleyball, and collaborative Life Enrichment programs
  • Implement team member wellness programs and assist with resident wellness surveys
  • Track class participation and support monthly fitness/aquatic communication
  • Coordinate with Physical Therapy and other departments as needed
  • Provide exceptional customer service while upholding Resident Rights, confidentiality, and Well-Spring policies
  • Follow all safety, compliance, and infection control guidelines
