Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in health education, wellness, fitness, or a related field
  • minimum of 3 years of experience developing and evaluating wellness or health-related programs
  • valid driver's license or ability to obtain North Carolina driver's license
  • ability to work independently and exercise good judgment
  • strong analytical skills for wellness data and statistics
  • effective written and verbal communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in health education, wellness, fitness, or a related field required
  • minimum of 3 years of experience developing and evaluating wellness or health-related programs
  • a passion for employee well-being and engagement is essential
  • a valid driver's license in North Carolina or another state, with the ability to obtain a NC driver's license
  • ability to think critically and make sound decisions in a variety of situations
  • must be comfortable working independently, exercising good judgment, and responding quickly and appropriately to employee or organizational needs
  • comfortable analyzing wellness data and basic statistics to prepare reports and track program results
  • skilled in writing clear reports, memos, and communications
  • confident communicator who can engage with employees, leadership, and healthcare partners in person, in meetings, or by phone

Job Duties

  • Design and lead innovative, results-driven wellness programs that improve employee health and engagement
  • evaluate citywide wellness needs, analyze data, and identify trends to guide program development and measure impact
  • partner with City departments, healthcare providers, and wellness champions to build a connected wellness network
  • coordinate citywide wellness events and initiatives such as biometric screenings, the Spring Fling Health Expo, and mobile mammogram visits
  • manage wellness incentives, retreats, and online resources to keep programs accessible and inspiring year-round
  • provide training and regular updates to leadership, sharing insights on participation, outcomes, and cost savings
  • develop communication strategies that promote awareness of wellness benefits and encourage employee participation
  • implement targeted programs addressing key health risks such as chronic disease prevention and weight management
  • foster a culture of well-being by aligning policies, environments, and benefits to support healthier choices
