Job Requirements
- Must be able to pass background and reference checks in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act
- able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day
- able and willing to complete other online and in-person training as required
- part-time availability up to 25 hours per week
- flexible scheduling to accommodate school and extracurricular activities
Job Qualifications
- Commitment to valuing and promoting diversity
- YMCA Foundations of Strength and Conditioning certification or equivalent such as ACE, ACSM, or AFAA preferred
- knowledge of basic health and fitness principles
- experience with exercise prescription and strength training machines preferred
- positive attitude and experience with youth and diverse populations
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications preferred
Job Duties
- Greet and interact with members as they enter and exit the fitness center
- deliver youth equipment orientations and assist members with spotting or form during workouts
- ensure the fitness area remains clean and organized including dumbbells, weight plates, bars
- ensure equipment is working properly
- promote YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility
- support a safe and inclusive environment for all members
- assist with routine maintenance and inventory of fitness equipment
