Job Requirements

  • must be 18 years or older
  • availability to work mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends including shifts starting as early as 6 am
  • ability to complete a 6-month structured training program with support from a mentor
  • strong teamwork and leadership skills
  • commitment to maintaining high food safety standards

Job Qualifications

  • 2 or more years’ experience as a prep or line cook
  • knowledge of food safety and quality assurance
  • associate's or bachelor’s degree in culinary arts preferred
  • experience working in a multi-faceted food service facility including restaurant, hotel, country club or similar preferred

Job Duties

  • assist the sous chef in running the kitchen and managing employees, overseeing the operations in the absence of the sous chef
  • follow recipes and proper cooking techniques to ensure products are consistently prepared to showcase high standards
  • educate customers and employees on products, share knowledge to offer complete meal solutions and suggest ways to prepare meal items incorporating products from different departments
  • manage employee performance by providing resources, training, feedback and development opportunities
  • maintain high standards of food safety and quality assurance
  • support the training and mentorship of kitchen staff
  • contribute to bottom-line profitability by minimizing waste and optimizing kitchen operations
