Job Requirements
- must be 18 years or older
- availability to work mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends including shifts starting as early as 6 am
- ability to complete a 6-month structured training program with support from a mentor
- strong teamwork and leadership skills
- commitment to maintaining high food safety standards
Job Qualifications
- 2 or more years’ experience as a prep or line cook
- knowledge of food safety and quality assurance
- associate's or bachelor’s degree in culinary arts preferred
- experience working in a multi-faceted food service facility including restaurant, hotel, country club or similar preferred
Job Duties
- assist the sous chef in running the kitchen and managing employees, overseeing the operations in the absence of the sous chef
- follow recipes and proper cooking techniques to ensure products are consistently prepared to showcase high standards
- educate customers and employees on products, share knowledge to offer complete meal solutions and suggest ways to prepare meal items incorporating products from different departments
- manage employee performance by providing resources, training, feedback and development opportunities
- maintain high standards of food safety and quality assurance
- support the training and mentorship of kitchen staff
- contribute to bottom-line profitability by minimizing waste and optimizing kitchen operations
