Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • One year of secretarial training or clerical experience
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written in English
  • Pleasant personality and telephone voice
  • Ability to remain calm in emergency situations
  • Maintain confidentiality when circulating information
  • Knowledge of computers including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Interest in working with older adults

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of secretarial training or clerical experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written in English
  • Pleasant personality and professional telephone voice
  • Ability to remain calm in emergency situations
  • Complete confidentiality in handling information
  • Knowledge of computers including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated interest in and desire to work with older adults

Job Duties

  • Answer all telephone calls promptly in a polite, personal, and friendly manner
  • Transfer calls appropriately and take messages when individuals are not available
  • Monitor emergency system and direct staff to emergent situations
  • Provide information to visitors and ensure signing in and badge wearing compliance
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of reception desk and lobby
  • Facilitate and coordinate transportation requests including making courtesy calls to residents
  • Assist residents with signing up for programs and activities and collect payments
  • Demonstrate effective use of office equipment and report supply needs
  • Sell postage stamps, receive and sort mail and packages, notify recipients
  • Facilitate maintenance requests and communicate urgent situations to staff
  • Complete monthly charge sheets accurately
  • Support other departments with clerical duties as assigned
  • Assist the Lead Receptionist in clerical duties and reception area maintenance
  • Balance cash register and handle cash receipts and checks
